Congo is a breeder's dream.  He was the pick male out of my first litter.  Many thanks to Rudy Ayala, professional handler, and Debby Jackson, Serengeti Ridgebacks, for evaluating this litter.  Congo lived on a ranch for the first year of his life with a close friend and long time Ridgeback owner.  From there he went into show training and conditioning.  Congo was shown to his championship by Tacy Summersett and myself.  I began showing his as a special myself  but decided he needed a professional handler, so Congo went on the road with professional handlers Jeff & Lori Wilson in May, 2002.  That year he was ranked # 12.  Congo continued to show with Jeff & Lori during 2003, finishing # 6 in the country in conformation.  He was also co-owned and shown by junior handler Katie Shepard in 2004.  Congo and Katie had a couple of nice wins in juniors.  Katie also showed him in groups on occassion while working for Lori Wilson.  Congo was shown in  January 2004 by Lori Turner-Wilson and Katie Shepard, then he took a few months off from showing.  Starting in May he was shown by Doug & Mandy Carlson, AKC Professional Handlers from Moore, OK.  On occassion he was also shown by one of his many fans, Deana Brown, Lexie Whippets, including the Top 20 at the 2004 National.  He was only shown about half the year, ending up # 9.  In 2005, we started the year off in January by showing at the  AKC Eukanuba National Championship in Tampa FL,  then in New York, February 2005 at Westminster with Doug & Mandy Carlson.  In April I drove to Perry GA with Congo and the girls to attend the RRCUS Nationals.  Congo was shown by Amber Lambie from California in the Top 20 competition and Best of Breed.  He is currently enjoying retirement in Fort Worth traveling with his daughters to shows now as an advisor!

Congo's first babies were born in September 2004.  The two litters were bred by Willmar Kennels, Marilyn & Willie Pipes, www.heartotexas.com/willmar, 20 puppies in all.  For more information on some of his babies, go to Tierney and Madison's pages for more information.
